Some more with ND and GND filters. Unfortunately it was a lovely bright day and the sea was particularly calm. So it was rather un-cooperative when it came to trying to get the sea to blur nicely in motion. Had to stack ND2/ND4/ND8 filters together with F22 and shutter speeds up around the 2 to
Pushy Pumpkin joins the family so all cats need new portraits!
The large image on this page was taken with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with a pure point and shoot. Nothing manual, nothing fancy, just phone, point, click. Was also uploaded directly from the phone to the site. And here’s the gallery of pics taken with the “real” camera. 217 taken, 32 pics that I’m
So it was my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday party. I didn’t really get creative with anything this time around, pretty much a point and shoot affair. There were a few that were taken on manual but to be honest the camera stayed pretty much in automatic modes most of the night. Anyway, the full results are
So I’ve not really taken any pics lately, didn’t really feel it over the winter, although now that days are getting brighter in the morning it might be time to put the camera bag back in the car and get back to my Blackrock morning spot and shoot some stuff.
Halloween, spookiness abounds! Took Grace to Castle Dracula for some vampire/undead action. Would totally recommend the trip, but you’ll need to be careful about when you take pics and you’ll need to be pretty adept with low-light skills (which as you can see, I’m not!) as flash wouldn’t be appropriate for most of the tour.
Is the sunrise actually “over” Dun Loghaire port? Sun was still under the horizon so I guess it’s an interesting point. Taken this morning, compare these to “Leaving Port” which was taken at the same spot and the same time of the morning but a month ago. Just shows how darker the mornings are getting
After dropping the better half off this morning I noticed there was a large ship coming out of Dun Laoghaire port with the sun rising.
Some pics from when it wasn’t raining, and a couple of when it was. A big shoot (for me!) with nearly 600 pics taken, this is a tenths of them. All have been tweaked a little bit in LightRoom but not by much.
Decided to make the most of travelling on the DART today, so thought I'd have another play with ND filters.
Just about anything can look artistic if it’s shot in B&W, even microwave chips!
